2 James Farmer- Was the co founder of CORE and helped organize the Freedom Rides. The freedom rides promoted integration of public facilities. The Busses were set on fire at a bus station on their way from D.C to Atlanta, and many of the riders were beaten. James Farmer was arrested in his role in organizing the Freedom Rides

People need to be informed to make valid decisions Definition of freedom of the press -  the right of newspapers, magazines, etc., to report news without being controlled by the government
