1 NatSIP is a unique national partnership of professionals and voluntary organisations working with children and young people with sensory impairment (SI) and their families The purpose of NatSIP is to improve outcomes for children and young people with sensory impairment through promoting collaborative working between education, health and social care professionals Details, published guidance and outcomes from the NatSIP workstreams, including from the contract programme, can be found on the NatSIP website:

3 Contract to provide delivery support to early years providers, schools and post-16 providers to improve outcomes for children and young people with sensory impairment. Contract with DfE 2017 – 18: Priority 1 – To enhance the capacity and knowledge of the front-line workforce Priority 2 – To develop the capacity of the broader SI sector We have 9 workstreams within each priority

5 Contract 2017 – 18 1.3 Development of face to face training and support materials for SENCOs: SENCO training – super SENCO events with regional SENCO forums Approach SENCO qualification providers for slots on SENCO course for more general awareness Contact: 1.4 Develop a mainstream training pack: The mainstream school training pack - linked to online resources through the training hub Contact: 1.5 Promote the work being done by NHS England and Public Health England to create an awareness of the importance of hearing well and understanding the challenges faced by children who need additional support to hear Delivery of ‘Dangerous Decibels’ in 6 schools/colleges
