Who Is Smart? What Is Smartness? Is smartness a social construction? These are the questions I asked : Do you think whites are smarter than African- Americans? Why? Do you think it's fair to judge people by their race? I chose to ask these questions because they were interesting to me and I wanted to know what other people thought.

I walked around asking 6th & 7th graders and some adults. 1st Question: 92% of 6th & 7th graders & 100% of the adults said whites are not smarter than African-Americans. 8% of 7th graders think whites are smarter than African-

Americans. 2nd Question: Most kids said that just because we are a different race doesnt mean one race is smarter. Most adults said that African- Americans have the same mental capacity. 3rd Question: 100% of the students and adults said it's unfair to judge people by their race.
