Join us on a journey through time and space to the entrepreneurs and economics of the West African Empires…

- Trans-Sahara trade route
Spending time on the Trans-Saharan trade route is a once in a life time experience. You will learn the way of the salt traders; how they sell, where they get their materials from and how they keep peace with the people of places they sell to. As an entrepreneur this will teach you about one of the greatest turning points of the kingdom of Ghana’s history. It will also inspire you in ways that you could have never imagined.

Important People in Africa

Abbas Ibn Firnas Abbas Ibn Firnas was and still is one of the most inspiring people known to man. He invented some of the best and well-known objects that we use today. From the metronome to the hand glider, he reached all areas. This activity allows you to be placed right into the day of his most miraculous invention: the corrective lens. You will see his thought process behind this invention and what lead him to even think of such an idea.

Sunni Ali We shall have lunch with Sunni Ali. We will also have a chance to interview him on recent economic achievements such as the river- based navy of over 400 boats that he built and used to good effect in his next conquest - the trading city of Jenne (now Djenné). He was the first king of the Songhai empire. He helped the empire flourish due to him capturing Timbuktu, which gave Songhai more trading space.

Mansa Sakura You will be present at the crowning of a new king: Mansa Sakura. Mansa Sakura was once a lowly slave, who was freed later in his life. During a rebellion around 1285, he climbed the ladder of hierarchy, and overtook the throne of who?. Abu Bakr. It is the first time in history that this happened. Things like this don't come along very often. It will be a privilege to witness such an event.

How were the measurements used in Africa?
Measurements were used in Africa for ensuring that in the market, when goods were traded, both the seller and the buyer would know how much money is the cost of the total good traded when bought in local weights and measures. You shall go to the market yourself to experience the difference firsthand.

We look forward to having you come on this once in a lifetime tour to ancient Africa, where you will experience the thrills of ancient civilizations before your very eyes

Thank You For Watching!
