MPM1D0-Final mark below a 70% what Math should I be selecting?
APPLIED or ACADEMIC? Working consistently at Level 1 or 2 (50 to 69%). Hands-on, practical learner Learn in class Working consistently at Level 3 or higher( 70% or higher). Theoretical/abstract thinking learner Self-motivated Works well independently Able to complete work at home If you are a student who consistently works at a level 1 or 2 getting 20’s and 60’s, don’t like to take work home, like teacher support and like hand on and practical applications consider applied course. If you are working consistently at level 3 or higher, work well independently with little teacher support and like the theory behind concepts consider ACADEMIC. Not every course has to be Applied level and not every course has to be Academic level. Consider a mixed palatte. If you are a weak Science student but a strong language student then consider applied Science and academic English in grade 10.

Timetable Changes? Impossible or Difficult to change courses once you start school. Timetable is built based on YOUR choices! A change disrupts teachers and their classes. Change of Mind about optional courses WILL NOT be considered! Be certain about courses you are choosing! There will be opportunities for you to make changes before September. Once your classes begin in September however, Time table changes are very difficult for several reasons. Course timetable and seats within a course are allocated built based on student choices. There may not be room to accommodate your changes. Guidance counsellors and teachers DON”T like disruptions to classes, so the only changes considered are compulsory ones. Change of mind about optional courses will not be considered so MAKE sure you put thought into the courses you are selecting!
