2. Introduction Into Refurbishment
Alfa E S has a proven ability to inspect, assess and evaluate exhausted chlorination electrolysers. Provided there are enough used units available we can refurbish the generators and bring them back on line to extend plant life. The ability to provide extended plant life from existing used parts is a valuable service to the stations who can salvage an old plant for a substantial saving against the price and delivery of a new plant. This service is backed up with the offer of a dedicated maintenance service programme to monitor the running of the refurbished plant and extend the plant life even further. In addition to the refurbishment of electrolysers we also provide new coating and electrolysis. This process is provided direct from our coating department where we provide complete bespoke electrolysers and systems

3. Refurbishment of Electrolysers
The most common cause for cell damage is poor acid cleaning operation and maintenance. The acid cleaning can cause damage if not carried out at the required time.
Alfa E S examines the cause of damage, either from poor maintenance or deterioration of coating from general use. As the electrolysers operate the wear of the bi-polar plates is not uniform.
Damage from poor maintenance is normally local. By assessing the damage and evaluating the coating, Alfa E S refurbishes the electrolysers from the remaining good plates and balances the unit.

4. Refurbishment of Electrolysers
We also provide the ability to cut down and remove damaged coating by blasting, then produce smaller plates from larger waste material.
In addition to refurbishing and repairing damaged electrolysers we also provide in house coating and manufacture of new plates and electrolysers.
The in-house supply of new electrolysers also provides the ability to identify design problems then provide solutions and upgrades.

5. Proven History and Cost Saving
Alfa E S has already successfully supplied new and refurbished electrolysers which have extended chlorination plant life. This has been done at Um AL Nar power station for over two years. By revitalising and extending the life of the run down plants at Um Al Nar we have salvaged approximately $3.5 million USD for a third of the cost.
We provide a five year warranty on all our coating as well as our refurbishment depending on our assessment and the remaining life in the system.
This saving is being extended even further by employing our site services for the monitoring and correct cleaning of the chlorination plants. In addition we can supply the complete scope of equipment to keep the complete plant operational, not just electrolysers running.
