Complete everything Independently The Absent Teacher I'm gone for now but don't be sad My reason for leaving is full of cheer. So until I'm back, work and be glad For I'll be a new person when I re-appear. I'll surely miss your smiling faces. Despite my absence please be kind! Don’t make the sub to go other places. So, while I'm out use your sharp mind. When I return I'll be sure to smile Because you'll have worked hard to show me your wit. I'll grade all your work though it might take me a while. Your Reasons need to be strong and supported
Monday Today you will act as both the prosecutor (saying he is guilty) and defense lawyer (saying he is innocent) for The narrator of Tell-Tale Heart. 1. Read the definition of insanity. 2. Look at the example text evidence for each side. Read through each and write down or underline key ideas you could argue. 3. Use the textual evidence to create 3 reasons for each side Example First Piece of Evidence for the PROSECUTION: First of all, the killer remembers everything about the crime and can talk about it calmly. In his confession, the killer says, “Hearken! and observe how healthily, how calmly, I can tell you the whole story” (pg 1). A person who is legally insane cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, so he probably wouldn’t have such an accurate memory of everything that happened. If he remembers all the facts about what he did, this proves that he was aware of reality and was not insane. Your Reasons need to be strong and supported Idea/Answer Text evidence Explanation
