SPAIN - Student Visa Types of Student Visa: (Depending on the length of the stay) For stays no longer than 6 months: VISA for 6 months/180 days. Students will not be entitled to obtain a foreign ID card in Spain, and this type of Visa cannot be extended in Spain. For stays longer than 6 months: VISA for 90 days. Students must apply for their foreign ID card upon arrival at Deusto. Please note: Once you arrive in Spain, it is not possible to change a 180-day student visa for a multiple entry visa or longer in Spain. You can only apply for a visa at your country of origin, or in the country of which you are a legal resident at that moment.

SPAIN - Student Visa Visa Application:
Applying for a visa at your country of origin. You can find further information about the nearest Spanish consulate on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation website. Applying for a visa in the country of which you are a legal resident. UK is not a Schengen country, therefore you need to contact the nearest Spanish Consulate in UK to apply for the Spanish Student Visa. Applying for an Authorisation of Stay. If you have a valid Student Card from an EU country (Schengen countries), you will be able to enter Spain by using that card and once in Spain, apply for an Authorisation of Stay. If that Card is expired before entering Spain, the Authorisation of Stay can be applied at the Spanish Consulate in the country where you are a legal resident at the moment.

SPAIN - Student Visa Documents required to obtain a Visa:
A valid passport for the whole length of your stay in Spain, more than 6 months at least. The letter of admission for the programme of study at the host university, including the course name and the dates. Accommodation confirmation letter. A copy of the private insurance policy. A document certifying that the student has enough financial support for his/her stay in Spain during the length of his/her studies (documents of grant(s) awarded, for example) Criminal record certificate from the countries where the student has resided during the last 5 years. (Only for stays longer than 6 months). Health certificate. (Only for stays longer than 6 months). Passport-size photographs Proof of payment of tuition fees Information about the programme of study Plane ticket reservation.
