Reading & Language Arts:
This week we learned all about the letter Nn
We created lists of words that begin with the N sound.
We read a poem and found the n’s and looked at sentence structure in the poem.
We cut up a mixed up a sentence and put the words in order
We continued working on writers workshop personal narratives in the morning! We added color this week and let the kids take them home to show you!
We read leveled reading books and look books from our book bins
Math:
We completed a cutting, count by twos picture cute and sort of a wintery day!
We practiced doing addition with unifix cubes.
We completed an addition worksheet by counting on a number line. We played a game called “Roll and Build..” We rolled a dice and built that number using unifix cubes.
We reviewed our shape names by making shapes on geo-boards.
Science and Social Studies:
We studies butterflies and recorded our observations in our science journals.
We looked at a map at where we live. We learned the cute song:
“States in America”

November Activities
-Using an interactive felt board, we learned about the Fist Thanksgiving.
-We painted a Mayflower and cut and glued Pilgrims inside it.
-We dressed as Native Americans and Pilgrims and enjoyed eating popcorn together. We watched the popcorn pop in a popcorn machine, which was very exciting!
-We talked about being thankful and made “I am thankful for…” feather necklaces.
-We made various letter crafts, such as a dog, duck and doctor kit for the letter D.
Upcoming Activities/Events for December
-We will learn about Advent and
Prepare for the birth of Jesus.
-We will make a variety of Christmas ornaments and crafts.
-We will sing a song in the school Nativity Concert!
