What’s in the Box? The WeDo 2.0 SmartHub unit Motor Tilt Sensor
Connects to the computer via Bluetooth Low Energy Needs 2 AA batteries or a recharger pack (sold separately or in FIRST LEGO League Jr bundle) Either option lasts a very long time Can support 2 WeDo 2.0 components Motor Turns clockwise or counterclockwise Tilt Sensor Physical sensor with a small bead that rolls to determine orientation of the sensor on a model Motion Sensor Detects when items are close LEGO Elements and organization stickers
7
Connecting Your WeDo Multiple verification pairing system
Each WeDo can be independently named from the pairing screen. Up to 3 SmartHubs can be paired to one device Each smart hub, motor, or sensor is assigned a color and placement in the programming grid.
8
Programming with WeDo 2.0 Drag and Drop Icon Language
Icons are color coded Green = Motor or SmartHub Red = Tablet/Computer Yellow = Programming Tools Orange = Sensor Input Blue = Computer Input Icons fit together like LEGO or puzzle pieces Comments can be added to the code with the word bubble All stop is Red Square Top Right on a laptop Lower Right on Tablets
9
WeDo Fun Components Built in and custom Backgrounds to display on the screen while the program runs Built in and custom sound option for the program Change the color of the LED on the Smart Hub Activate on sound (not a good idea for the Expo) Ability to introduce variables, switches, and loops Or use MIT Scratch to program (currently only mac or WeDo 1.0)
