Why the city of Safranbolu inscribed on the world heritage list
Why the city of Safranbolu inscribed on the world heritage list? Write down the criteria(on) used by UNESCO. The Safranbolu’s traditional houses are known for their architecture. The stone-built ground floors of Safranbolu houses, most of which are two or three storey mansions, generally follow the natural gradient of the street. Although the houses are built on small, oddly shaped lots, thanks to this building technique the upper level rooms are nevertheless rectangular and spacious. Another aspect of these houses’ technique is that the axis can be rotated slightly on the upper stories according to need or exposure to the sun. Évora Safranbolu Our idea to improve the Évora garden and make it more attractive to tourists and local population is to promote the concerts in the bandstand, drama at the Palace, book fairs and social events – meetings and photography contests. In Safranbolu’s case, we think that is important to preserve and improve the traditional houses and their history for the tourists and make the surrounding spaces more dynamic.
