Rational Numbers Include:
List the first 5 natural or counting numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 List the first 5 whole numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 List the first 5 integers in both directions: -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 What do you notice about these numbers? Each group includes the group above it, but adds more numbers into the mix

Rational numbers include:
Terminating decimal Decimals that have a finite number of decimal places Repeating decimal Decimals in which a digit or sequence of digits repeats without end A bar over the numbers shows it repeats

Converting fractions to decimals
All fractions have an equivalent decimal form Any fraction can be converted to a decimal by simply dividing the numerator by the denominator Numerator Denominator Numerator ÷ Denominator
