Man is made uniquely by God intimately and personally, and holds a unique position in creation: a relationship or covenant with God. And the man and woman share the glory of their unique creation: there is equality before God and within the bond of marriage there are also clear roles and relationships with one another.

A “Covenant of Works” This covenant’s positions:

God is not the author of sin. God hates sin. “Did God actually say, … So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. (Gen. 3:6-7, ESV) The Fall of Man

God is not the author of sin. God hates sin. The man is responsible. Adam, as head of the covenant is confronted by God and held accountable. What did the sin do to the man? What did God’s curse bring to man? The Fall of Man

Man will not: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jer. 17:9, ESV) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; (Is. 53:6, ESV) “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.” (Rom. 3:10-11, ESV)
