Aim The purpose of our questionnaire is to find out whether a short thriller film would appeal to our target audience and we wanted to know their options on what they would like to see within the short film.

Research Techniques The way in which we collected our research data was by creating and distributing a questionnaire to our target audience. This technique enabled us to reach a larger amount of people in a short amount of time, it also allowed us to collect quantitive data and some qualitative data.

Audience Profile Our target audience is mainly males of the age of 15+. However, we asked some people outside of our target audience so they could provide us with ideas that we could include in our film.

Audience Profile We want to find out were most of our target audience lives so we can market our film in the right places. By knowing the occupation of our audience, this will let us know how much disposable income they would have to spend on a short film.

Cinema Habits we wanted to know how many times our target audience went to the cinema a month. This will allow us to know how many view the film will be expected to get. It will also tell us what season it would be best to release and market our film.

Advertising This chart allowed us to find out where it would be best to advertise and distribute our short film and where it would achieve the most views from our target audience.

Film Preferences This information allowed us to find out on what medium our target audience would watch the film the most, and what thriller style they would most like to see. Also it allowed us to see whether they would prefer a conventional male killer or a Female killer.

Film Preferences From gather this information it tells us that our target audience prefers shot quick shots that make the film quick and jumpy. Also this information has gave us a guideline on where the target audience would like to see the film set

Film Magazine This allowed us to see if our target audience read film magazine and then to see what film magazine with would be best to put our film review in.

Film Posters This gives us the knowledge of what film posters our target audience likes the most and what posters we should take influence from when making our own film posters.

Conclusion From doing this research we have found out that our audience is predominately male aged between We also found that our main audience members are student and live mainly in the North Weald and Epping area. along with these results we found out that our audience prefers to visit the cinema in the summer months. However the majority of them would prefer to watch our short film online. They were prepared up to £4 to view the short film. We also found that our audience would like to see mainly online advertising. When we asked about things they would like to see from the film mainly wanted to see a twisted ending but most would like to see a conventional male killer. When asked about other film preferences we found that our audience would prefer a conventional style of shots and editing. We also saw that some of our audience read film magazines, these were total film, Empire and Virgin Media. Also out of the posters that we showed our audience we found that the wrong turn poster was the most popular

Proposal From gathering these results it will allow us to produce a short film, film posters and a film review that will appeal to our target audience and have element that they have chosen specifically. From looking at the research gather we have decided that the setting of our film will be at an abandoned house and that there is going to be a twisted ending to the film.
