11 John Piper Death still snatches away Disease still makes us miserable Calamity still strikes

12 Satan still prowls Flesh still wars against the Spirit

13 Scriptures concerning waiting in hope

14

15 20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse.
Romans 8 (NLT) 20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

16 22 For we know that all creation
has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

17

18 23 And we believers also groan,
Romans 8 (NLT)  23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering.

19 as His adopted children, including the new bodies He has promised us.
We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as His adopted children,  including the new bodies He has promised us.

20 24 We were given this hope when we were saved.
(If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.)

21 38 And I am convinced that nothing
can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—

22 not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

23

24 7 Now you have every spiritual gift you need
1 Corinthians 1  7 Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

25 8 He will keep you strong to the end
so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

26

27 10 …you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven—
1 Thessalonians 1 10 …you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven— Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.

28 Reflect on the hope engrained in some of the name of Jesus

29

30 Matthew 1 23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child!     She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Emmanuel,     which means ‘God is with us.’”

31 Every name for Jesus is full of hope.
As Emmanuel  He paid the ransom that only a God-man can pay – once FOREVER.

32

33 Isaiah 11  There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots.

34 2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

35 As Rod of Jesse  His death and resurrection frees His people from Satan’s tyranny FOREVER

36

37 Isaiah 60  Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

38 As the Day-spring He will be the light of the world, and banish the
hopelessness of darkness FOREVER.

39 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,
Revelation 7  “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”

40 unlocks the door of heaven, and brings us home FOREVER.
As the Key of David  He rescues us from hell unlocks the door of heaven, and brings us home FOREVER.

41 6 “For thus says the Lord of hosts:
Haggai 2 6 “For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land;

42 7 and I will shake all nations,
and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations,  and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts.

43 As the Desire of nations from every tribe and every nation,
He draws the ransomed will make them a kingdom of peace FOREVER

44 As Emmanuel Rod of Jesse Day-spring Key of David Desire of All Nations He offers hope FOREVER!

45 Revisit a “breaking of bread” at Emmaus

46

47

48 and those who were with them gathered…
Luke 24 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered…

49 35 And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.

51 In Remembrance of Me

52

53 the plagues that are written in this book;
Revelation 22 8 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;

54 19 and if anyone takes away from the words
of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

55 20 He who testifies to these things says,
I Am Coming Quickly 20 He who testifies to these things says,  “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

56 We are Gonna See The King

60

61 7 …receive one another, just as Christ
Romans 15 7 …receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God 13…may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
