2. Why is Horatio Nelson a Great Briton?
He is probably the most celebrated Admiral in the British Navy who is known as a national hero.
He led Britain to victory against France during the Napoleonic wars, his most famous victory being the Battle of Trafalgar. Unfortunately he was killed during this but his fleet stopped the French from invading Britain.
He features on one of England’s most famous landmarks- Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square.
