1. VERB PATTERN
When we put 2 verbs together, the 2nd verb is usually in the infinitive or the –ing form.
Which pattern we use depends on the 1st verb

2. VERB+-ING FORM
Admit,advise, avoid, can’t bear(both inf and –ing), can’t help, carry on, consider, delay, dislike, deny, enjoy, envisage, fancy, feel, finish, give up,have difficulty, like, imagine, intend, it’s no good, it’s not worth, justify, keep on, mind, practise, propose, put off, recollect, recommend, risk, stop, spend time, suggest

4. VERB+INFINITIF
Agree, ask, beg,dare,decide,except, fail, happen,hope, manage,mean, offer, prepare, pretend, promise, refuse, seem, want, wish, would like, would prefer

6. BOTH:INFINITIF AND -ING
With little or no change in meaning: like, love, prefer, hate, begin, start,continue, intend, can’t bear

8. GO ON Go on to do smth:Start something new

9. REMEMBER and FORGET If we are talking about the past:V-ing
“I remember locking the door”
If you are talking about the future: to+ infinitif
“Please, remember to lock the door”

10. FORGET If we are talking about the past:V-ing
“I will never forget going water rafting in Africa”
If you are talking about smth that happened before: to+ infinitif
