What you need to graduate courses & testing
Required Courses 4 years of English (in the United States) = 4 credits 4 years of Math = 4 credits 3 years including Algebra and Geometry + a math-related 4 years of traditional math (ex. Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, PreCalculus) 3 years of Science (including 2 lab science courses) = 3 credits 3 years of Social Studies (including 1 US History) = 3 credits 4 Phys.Ed/Health courses = 2 credits 1 technology = .5 credit 1 visual or performing arts = .5 credit A variety of electives including languagues, family & consumer science, technology, internships, etc. New England Common Assessment Program – Score of 2 in Reading and Math automatically qualifies for graduation – NECAP retests or alternate tests may be rquired

What you need to graduate the portfolio
Graduation Portfolio (Assembled in this order) Declaration of Ethical Conduct (This must be signed by you and a parent/guardian.) Graduation Portfolio Cover Sheet (refer to handout) List each of your 26 artifacts identifying Academic Expectations and Applied Learning Summative Reflection Essay This will be scored on a rubric – you must make necessary revisions before presentations 26 Artifacts (refer to handouts) You must have a signed rubric and/or cover sheet for every artifact 26 artifacts: 4 Writing from 3 different genres, 4 Math from 2 different strands, 4 science from 2 different courses, 4 social studies with 1 from US History (Civics) 10 Other Artifacts: 1 from technology 1 from visual/performing arts 8 from any course (foreign language, business, health, FCS, etc.) Portfolio Presentation: Scheduled for Students with Proficient Portfolios – MAY 2014 Exceptions to this requirement on next slide.

Exceptions to portfolio requirements
3-year student: Minimally, student should have 19 artifacts: 3 writing artifacts; 2 different genres 3 mathematics artifacts; two different strands 3 social studies artifacts; no restrictions 3 science artifacts; no restrictions 7 other artifacts 2-year student: Minimally, student should have 13 artifacts: 2 writing artifacts; 2 different genres 2 mathematics artifacts; no restrictions 1 - 2 social studies artifacts; no restrictions 1 - 2 science artifacts; no restrictions 5 - 7 other artifacts 1-year student: Minimally, student should have 9 artifacts: 2 writing artifacts; 2 different genres 1 mathematics artifact 0-1 social studies artifacts; no restrictions 0-1 science artifacts; no restrictions other artifacts DISCLAIMER: These guidelines reflect students having had the opportunity to take core content classes each year they were enrolled in Pawtucket. It is possible, especially for students who have been with us one or two years, that they would not have had the opportunity to take science and/or social studies courses. In this case, you should expect to see additional artifacts in the other artifacts section and the portfolio should include a student transcript to support the choice of artifacts.
