2. Objective Each early childhood education teacher (K-3 and specials)
will demonstrate basic knowledge of video production by creating a video between 30 seconds and 1 minute that incorporates still shots, video, text, and audio.

4. Rational
Teachers need to learn to create their own video for two reasons.
They need to publish their student work in digital formats for others to view
They will then be able to better instruct their students on the use of video editing software.

16. Step 1 Get File Ready Create a new folder on desktop-name it
Everything thing you think you might use needs to be in this folder.
Copy the sample folder from the network to folder on the desktop.
Refer to resource sheet for audio and image sources.
Create a storyboard guideline—Each participant should look at contents of the folder and create their storyboard.

17. Step 2 Open Movie Maker “Walk” through the initial page— Tasks

Import pictures—single and multiple at once (ctrl A, or ctrl select)

I like to do transitions first, because the audio and music jump sometimes if you put it in first.

21. Step 6 Import audio or music—
You can not have audio and music in the same track (unless one is on a video,) but there are ways to add music over audio, but it requires creating video first.

22. Step 7-Saving To save this project Go to File…Save…name the file.
It saves in a Movie Maker format.
It is like creating something in Word.
It can be edited.

23. Step 7-Saving To create a video Click on “Save to my computer”
Give the video a name and choose where you want it saved.
Click next
Depending on how you are going to use the video, depends on how to save the next part.

24. Step 7-Saving
If you want to show it in your classroom or put on a CD, click next to create best quality for computer playback.
If you want to put it on EdLine (or other online portal,)
click “show more choices”
choose other settings--Video for Broadband (512 kbps).
This will allow a smaller file to be uploaded.
Once a video is created, it is like printing from Word. You can not edit the “printed-video” version.
You must go back to the original Movie Maker file to edit, and then create another video.
