11. SAUDI ARABIA Praying for the Persecuted Church
Two Christian men working in the city of Batha, Riyadh state, were arrested on 11 March and sentenced to 45 days in prison. Sekhar and Yohan were charged for "proselytizing" and then beaten. Their apartment was ransacked after they were imprisoned by authorities.
Local Christians believe they were arrested to hinder them from practicing Christianity in their home. The employer of one of the Christian men has returned his passport indicating that his employment has been terminated and he will be expelled from the country. The other Christian awaits information regarding his legal status and job.
