Glossary Affect: to make a change in something. Occurrence: Something that happens, an event or incident. Characteristics: a distintive thing about a group or individual. (For example: a woman with red hair, red hair is one of her character- istics). Policy: A set of guidelines that outline the ways in which government, services, organizations, etc. are organized. Collaboration: Working with others on a shared project. Principles: A guiding set of beliefs that guide how we act. Demonstrate: To describe or explain something by providing an example. Sector: a specific part of our society that has a shared interest. Engage: To get involved. Ethically: accept the principles of right and wrong that are outlined in guidelines that dictate how research is done. Focuses: gives attention to. Influence: having the ability to have an effect on the actions of a person, group of people, organization or government.
