Impersonal Se The impersonal se is used to speak in GENERAL.
It DOES NOT refer to specific people. It can mean : they, one, or you. EJEMPLOS: 1. ¿Cómo se dice “cat” en español? (How do you say “cat” in Spanish?) 2. Se trabaja mucho aquí. (One works a lot here.)

Passive Se The pronoun se can be used to say that
something is being done without saying who does it. The verb after “se” must agree in number with the noun receiving the action. 1. Se venden flores aquí. EJEMPLOS: Flowers are sold here. 2. Se habla español. Spanish is spoken here. 3. Se vende pan en la panadería. Bread is sold in the bakery.

Passive Se (cont’d) The passive se is often used to say
what is or is not allowed! EJEMPLOS: 1. Se prohíbe fumar. Smoking is prohibited. 2. No se permite nadar. Swimming is not allowed. 3. Se prohíbe hablar. Talking is prohibited.
