As large as California and Nevada combined, this short- and mixed-grass prairie is one of only four remaining intact temperate grasslands in the world. 18 Lake This is a satellite photo from NASA showing the Great Lake Superior. It is one of the largest and deepest fresh water lakes. It is 350 miles long by 160 miles wide. You can find this lake in North America between Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, and East Ontario. I white shading on the water is ice that has not melted from the winter months.
