2. Assignment
You will be conducting research on an aspect of bullying. During your research, you will need to gather as much information about the topic as possible. You will need to be an expert, and present your information to the class.
You will be grouped with others depending on your topic and together you will create a PowerPoint presentation to present to the class. These groupings will be at random, along with your topic. DO NOT ask me to change your topic or your group. Get along as best you can, in the real world you will have to work with all types of people. Tolerance  and Peace Please

3. Topic 1
Patterns of bullying: Google this, and find information pertaining to the patterns of bullying. For example: (made up) 75% of school bullies wind up with violations and felonies for abuse and assault. Look for any patterns relating to the students being bullied. And research any patterns of psychological damage which leads to bullying or the effects afterward. Statistics for these patterns will “wow” the crowd and get your point across.

4. Topic 2
First Amendment vs. Cyber bullying: Freedom of Speech vs. Bullying. This amendment gives bullies a voice and the law says they have the right to be heard. -But- if their speech causes harm and death to others, do they still deserve those rights? Pose facts and opinions on both sides- be sure to choose one definitive side- or create amendments to the amendment. (like creating a line and not crossing it- or in violation of that law)

5. Topic 3
State Laws against bullying and cyber bullying: Research AZ and one other state of your choosing. Give us all the details of those laws. Pose all the PROS and CONS to having a law (your choice state) and not having a law (AZ). Since AZ does not have a law- create one for it. Be sure to include all the rules and limitations of that law- by looking at every angle. (this includes all forms of bullying)

6. Topic 4
Create a PowerPoint or story book for kids ages 8-11: to raise awareness to kids, create a powerpoint or book in kid friendly language to create bully prevention. Spread the word that bullying is NOT cool. And that being nice and tolerant is. Be sure it is age appropriate (my slides would not be).

7. Topic 5
Impact of social media (FB, Instagram, youtube and Twitter) on the rise of cyber bullying: How has the internet and specifically social websites created higher numbers of bullying? What else has risen since social media has taken over? Explain social responsibility and using the internet and social websites in a responsible, respective, positive manner. Give examples of ways or tips on how to be socially responsible on specific social pages.

8. Topic 6
“Trolling”: What is it? What does a “troll” do? Explain in detail. Create 5 slides min. for this project.

9. Topic 7
Awareness: What is awareness? Why is raising awareness on bullying important? What companies, websites, and people have been dedicated to raising awareness on bullying? What programs have the created? What do their websites pledge to do and/or have accomplished?

10. Topic 8
Soundtrack/CD: find anti-bullying songs and create a PowerPoint presentation to showcase the songs with a description of the meaning of the song, it’s popularity, and cite specific lines and lyrics from the song to support your choice.

11. Group Work Working in partners 4-5 people
Divide up the work evenly, (1-2 slide pp)
