1 Caster - engineers in the front seat
Safety Check-Course In this slideshow you will take part of how a safety check is preformed correctly Caster - engineers in the front seat

2 The list to perform a Safety Check
The safety check is divided into five parts, every part has to be approved in order for the safety check to be completed. Three parts includes a check of the pit area and upper platform which is around the simulator. Two parts include the start up and safety check which is to be made on the computer. And the last driving check is made with a driver in the drivers seat. Let´s begin! Caster - engineers in the front seat

Pit area Caster - engineers in the front seat

4 1. Inspect ground attachment bolts
Make sure that the white spot on the pawn is aligned to the white spot on the ground everywhere around on all three of the attachments Caster - engineers in the front seat

5 2. Inspect actuator fixation (top & bottom)
Same as previous, make sure that the white spot on very bolt is near the white spot on the plate, to make sure no bolt has loosened up. Caster - engineers in the front seat

6 3. Inspect wiring & connectors of all actuators
Check if wiring and connectors are attached and not moving except around its attachment. Caster - engineers in the front seat

7 4. Inspect computer cabinet
Make sure the computer cabninets are in the right position Caster - engineers in the front seat

8 5. Inspect stand and its fixation

9 6. Inspect access bridge and its fixation
There is no bridge, therefore it should look like the picture to the left. Caster - engineers in the front seat

10 6. Inspect pedalbox wiring & connectors 7. Inspect pedalbox fixation
See if the pedals are fixed and the wiring and connectors are attached. Caster - engineers in the front seat

11 8. Check brake system for oil leaks 9. Inspect even brake pedal travel
Obs! Check for oil leaks under both cylinders Caster - engineers in the front seat

12 10. Inspect throttle pedal endstops 11. Inspect clutch pedal endstops
Caster - engineers in the front seat

13 12. Inspect screen attachements
Make sure the screens are still attached – not moving. Caster - engineers in the front seat

14 Caster - engineers in the front seat
Upper platform Caster - engineers in the front seat

15 Caster - engineers in the front seat
1. Inspect general condition of seat and fixation 2. Inspect seatbelt and attachment functioning Attachments Attachments 2 Caster - engineers in the front seat

16 3. Inspect subwoofer underneeth the seat
Make sure that the subwoofer is fix and no screws has come lose. Caster - engineers in the front seat

17 4. Inspect seating position adjuster
Check the position adjuster. Caster - engineers in the front seat

18 Caster - engineers in the front seat
5. Inspect steering wheel 6. Inspect general condition of H-pattern shifter 7. Inspect fixation of H-pattern to upper platform 8. Clean upper platform 5 Check shifter flappy paddle Then check if the red light is on when you push the flappy paddle. 7 H-pattern shifter Caster - engineers in the front seat

Start up Caster - engineers in the front seat

20 Caster - engineers in the front seat
1. Switch on motion system 2. Realese E-stop and press red reset button 3. Start operator computer 1 Switch on motion system This is how it looks when the E-stop is realesed and the red button is pushed (not shining) 2 3 Operator computer Caster - engineers in the front seat

21 4. Start Session Manager on desktop

5. Start all computers They can also be started trough ”Session manager”. Caster - engineers in the front seat

23 Caster - engineers in the front seat
6. Check if all computers have Racer running 7. Start a new heat and select demo (no driver) 7.1 7.2 6. If Racer is running then all the screens on the simulator have a black background with the Chalmers logo on the middle screen Caster - engineers in the front seat

24 8. Inspect if motion is properly working
Motion is when the simulator moves while driving. It can be turned off so you can drive without movement. The motion can be checked by listening for noise and see that the movement is as expected Caster - engineers in the front seat

25 What to check while testing demo
1. Check if simulator comes up OK 2. Check the car and track loads OK 3. Check if spectator view is OK 4. Check if the platform moves OK Caster - engineers in the front seat

26 Caster - engineers in the front seat
Driving check Caster - engineers in the front seat

27 Driving Check for test driver
Test motion (It acts normal) Test steering (Force feedback) Test pedals Test shift pedals and manual H-pattern gearbox Check audio system Caster - engineers in the front seat

28 Caster - engineers in the front seat
Let´s go! Caster - engineers in the front seat
