11 ATTACKING TEAM Most importantly, a player will not be deemed in an OFFSIDE POSITION until they cross the BUILD OUT LINE to place themselves between that line and the goal line. In other words, the OFFSIDE POSITION rules move from the HALFWAY LINE to the BUILD OUT LINE. ARs and lines people will no longer need to run to the HALFWAY LINE. They will be able to stop at the BUILD OUT LINE.

12 OFFSIDE CALLS IN THIS AREA
NO OFFSIDE CALLS IN THIS AREA

13 “BUILDING FROM THE BACK”
Advancing the ball through possessions (shorter passes and dribbling) is the preferred method to the long ball in the modern game and is a better way to develop skilled players.

14 WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? Players will have more touches on the ball.
Players will learn the objectives and the principles of play for each third of the field. Passing is promoted more. Playing the ball “out of the back” is done in a less pressured manner. Young players will be able to see visually where their position is on the field. Players will play more as a team than as individuals. Assistance in teaching the offside principle Games will no longer be one long “boot” after another
