2 2018 Camp Card Sales Mid-Iowa Council is pleased to offer the 2018 Camp Card sale and THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION! The intent of this sale is to help Scouts and Units fund their summer Scouting program, including Cub Day Camp/Twilight Camp, Cub Scout Summer Camp, Boy Scout Summer Camp, Philmont, etc. Most units earn enough money to purchase new equipment, tents, sleeping bags, and canoes, trailer upgrades, and more!

4 WHAT IS THE CAMP CARD SALE?
THE BASICS OF THE SALE All Mid-Iowa Council Camp Cards are to be sold for $5.00 each. This sale is to help fund our Unit’s Scouting Adventures. The money can be used as the unit’s committee sees fit. Units are encouraged to develop their own prize plans and goals. This will increase competition among the Scouts and your commission! Commissions are based on how many cards you sell and go up to 60%!!! Sale starts February 1st and ends April 30th

5 How Much Money can we make?
COMMISSION SCALE Accounts settled on or before May 4th will receive: Sell 399 cards or less and receive $2.50 per card (50%) Sell cards and receive $2.75 per card (55%) Sell 600 or more cards and receive $3.00 per card (60%) Accounts settled AFTER May 4th will receive: May 5 -11, the Base Commission of $2.50 per card, regardless of # sold May , Commission of $2.25 per card, regardless of # sold May , Commission of $2.00 per card, regardless of # sold June 1 -30, Commission of $1.50 per card, regardless of # sold Accounts not settled by July 1 will be billed $5.00 per card and will receive no commission

6 What are the important dates?
October 1 Begin Online Reservations to sell Camp Cards February 1 Camp Cards are available for pickup at Maytag Scout Center, you will also be able to pick up at Roundtable meetings in February. February - April Scouts report on status of sales to Unit Camp Card Coordinators. During the sale, Units can return cards at any time so they are available for others to sell. April 30 End of Sale May 4 All accounts to be paid in full by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 4, 2018

8 Keys to a Successful Sale
1. Hold a meeting to distribute cards and kick-off your unit’s Camp Card sales plan. 2. Have each Scout/Family set a goal on how many Camp Cards they would like to sell. 3. Set a Unit Goal for the number of Camp Cards to sell, and make it a good one. Most units earn enough money to purchase new equipment, tents, sleeping bags, canoes, summer camp, day camp etc., for a year’s operations. 4. Parents should easily be able to sell cards at work, Scouts should easily be able to sell cards to neighbors. 5. Establish competition between Dens, Patrols and Crews, providing extra incentives in addition to the card sales prizes.
