What is PBIS? A positive behavior management process to create safer and more effective schools. A system of clear school wide expectations with consequences and incentives, intervention when you need help. recognition and celebration for your successes!

How did we get here? Was needed to help create an effective school wide environment in regards to expected behavior in and out of the classroom. A group of staff in collaboration with our Region 16 P.B.I.S. coordinator worked together to create the needed pieces to start to make P.B.I.S. work for AHS.

TEACHER ASSIGNMENT Divided into groups (random assignments)
Each group responsible for a focus area Use matrix to develop an 8-10 minute presentation that addresses expectations for your particular area. You will present to 8 different groups of roughly 50 students each day.

Guidelines for Identifying Expectations
Identify behaviors expected of all students Select 3 to 5 behaviors State expectations in positive terms Select expectations that are general enough to be applicable in multiple settings, but specific enough to be of assistance in generating rules for targeted settings

PIZZA PARTY LUNCH Any student new to the district gets a free pizza luncheon from PBIS Survey to see how their transition to AHS went How we could improve the transition Make them feel more at home

Students selected randomly Selected once a week Receive assortment of prizes

Congressional Student of the Month
One student a month chosen Outstanding service to school or community Student receives signed certificate from Congressman Steve Stivers Recognition on school website

Continued meetings with our P.B.I.S. Coordinator in Region 16
Tier 1 Fidelity Check in Spring of 2018. Continued work to spread the message to all organizations Student Council: Mix it up at Lunch initiative at the beginning of second semester. Athletic Events: the 4 B’s placed in programs. Locker rooms, gymnasium, outdoor facilities. Winter Homecoming: Video to continue to encourage School Spirit and importance of the 4 B’s. NEW IN
