3 Steps to a build a Nudge Campaign:
Start with the end in mind. -Stephen Covey My “end”: Nudge the “40 days to start” students to encourage help-seeking behaviors. Increase persistence, completion and success of these students. Don’t wait for the “best” or “perfect” student list. Use the tools and lists currently available. Hint-Civitas and your campus data team. Limit the amount of time and resources to 1 hour, $0.00. Example of a Nudge campaign email
Date: March 23, 2017 Subject: IMPORTANT! GPA Dear Student- You have completed half of Spring 2017 semester! The second half is well on it’s way and I wanted to ensure that you are on track for a successful finish. Like you, I began my education at a community college. I learned that perseverance and asking for academic assistance was the key to my success. One of the most important ways I accomplished this was by getting help. I wanted to give you a quick reminder that we have free tutoring for you. You can find more at Dr. Chavez, Vice President of Student Success

Civitas: Illume-Students
What does it do? “Illume Students enables you to quickly identify at-risk students with high accuracy, gaining insight into the factors specific to your institution that are influencing their likelihoods to persist to the next term.” How does Illume-Students do it? “[The Civitas] Student Insights Engine ingests your institution’s historical and current term data and applies predictive models to predict enrolled students’ persistence outcomes.” What can we do with it? It’s up to you and your team! “These insights can empower your teams to connect at-risk students with faculty, advisors, and support services to improve student outcomes.” Source: Civitas Illume Students HELP
