2. Background Information
Name: Osceola Meaning: A strong drink with caffeine, it is supposed to give courage. Tribe: Creek Born:1804 Died:1838

3. Early Life
His first name was Little Owl . He was born in Tallassee, Alabama. In 1814 Osceola and his mother moved to Florida alongside other Creeks.

4. Later Life
Osceola led the Seminole Indians in Florida during the Second Seminole War. During the 1820’s, Osceola became known as a successful hunter and war leader.

5. Interesting Information
In 1838 he was the most famous Native American. After defeating the U.S. in early battles of the Second Seminole War, Seminole leader Osceola was captured by the United States on October 20, 1837.
