Primary Newsletter 6 – Summer Term 2
FRIDAY 14 JULY 2017 Dear Parents/Carers SPORTS DAY Many thanks to those who attended sports day this week. It was such bad luck that the weather was not on our side and the plans for the afternoon needed to be cancelled last minute. So that years 1, 2 and 3 do not miss out, they will be doing the same activities next week during their normal PE lessons, and medals will be awarded accordingly. LION KING Today we saw the second production by the year 6 children of the Lion King. I would just like to congratulate all of the children for the effort they put into learning all of their lines and songs. I am very proud of them, and of course our brilliant year 6 staff, which without them it would not have been possible. What a great memory for the year 6 children to take with them when they leave St Matthew Academy primary phase next week! . LAST DAY OF TERM ARRANGEMENTS On Friday 21st July, we will be ending our school year with a whole academy assembly in the sports hall. Secondary students will be dismissed directly from there at 12pm and Primary students will return to their classrooms to collect their belongings and will then follow at around 12.05pm – 12.10pm. As it is only a half day, lunch will not be provided, however if your child is entitled to receive a free school meal and you would like a sandwich to be prepared for them, please let the school office know and these will be available for children to take away with them as they leave.
