2. PURPOSE OF THE MEETING TONIGHT/ DOEL VAN DIE VERGADERING VANAAND
To guide parents and learners to make the correct subject choices that will support their career paths.
To make sure learners select subjects according to the National Policy pertaining to the programme and promotion requirements of the National Curriculum Statement: Gr R - 12 from Groups A, B and/or C.
Indicate provisos for certain subject combinations.

3. When making subject choices your aptitude, interests, personality, physical ability as well as current school results and motivation must be considered.

Learners will choose subjects in October Parents and learners will receive a form which both must sign.

7. Provisos on subject combinations
Accounting and Physical Science must be offered in combination with Mathematics.
If a learner wants to enrol for Electrical Technology it must be in combination with Mathematics, Physical Science and Engineering Graphics and Design.
Prerequisite for learner numbers in certain subjects: eg Consumer studies – 20.

8. Mathematics
Learners who failed MATH in Gr 9, will definitely battle to pass it in Gr
All learners may take MATH accept those learners whose year mark was adjusted to pass in Gr 9.
If one of the above-mentioned learners want to take MATH, he/she will be given a chance, but will have to take MLIT if he/she fails in the first term.
For learners achieving 40-50% in Gr 10, extra classes are compulsory.
Extra classes programme will be handed out in school.

9. CONDITIONS TO TAKE EXTRA SUBJECTS VOORWAARDES OM EKSTRA VAKKE TE KAN NEEM
Kan slegs met toestemming van hoof gedoen word.
To offer an extra subject, a learner should have, achieved an aggregate of 75% in the previous year.
Die volgende kriteria geld verder:
□ Accn - 70% in Accn
□ Hist - 70% in Languages
□ CATN - 75% Average
Additional subjects must be offered for all three years and all Assessment tasks must be met.

10. REëLINGS ivm VAKVERANDERING ARRANGEMENTS icw SUBJECT CHANGES
Leerders registreer reeds aan die begin van Gr.10 na aanvanklike registrasie in Gr. 9.
May change two subjects in Gr. 10 with permission from the principal.
Mag een vak in Gr.11 verander met toestemming van die hoof.
May change one subject in Gr.12 (before end Jan) with permission from KZNDOE.

11. PROSEDURE VIR VAKVERANDERING PROCEDURE TO CHANGE SUBJECTS
Letter from parents with request to Grade Guardian.
Vorm wat deur leerder/ouers & vakonderwysers ingevul moet word sal oorhandig word.
Submission of all relevant data to Principal.
Decision by Principal after all data has been taken into consideration and discussed with relevant parties.
Betrokke onderwysers word in kennis gestel en veranderings dan eers gemaak.
Admin problems when changing subjects.

Partnership between learner, parent and school. Get involved.
