1 Year 11 Subject Selection – Outdoor and Environmental Studies

2 Course Description Outdoor and Environmental Studies Unit 1 & 2 examines the way people experience the outdoors and what motivates them to do so. It also focuses on the characteristics of outdoor environments and the different ways of understanding them. Human impact on the environment is also studied.

ICT based work Discussions/debates Practical work includes Camps skills Trip organisations SACS for each area of study with exams at then end of each semester.

4 Subject pathway…. Outdoor and Environmental Studies offers students a range of pathways, and caters to those who wish to pursue further formal study in areas where interaction with outdoor environments is central, such as: Natural resource management, nature-based tourism, outdoor leading and guiding, environmental research and policy, education, and agriculture.

5 Extra activities/costs?
Students are expected to participate in the 3 compulsory camps which are 2 one day trips 2-3 day bushwalk Cost Approximately $400
