New manufacturing methods changed the style of work in other industries besides the textile industry.
Guns were made one at a time
They were made by gunsmiths

3. Eli Whitney Eli Whitney was hired by the government
He was hired to make 10,000 muskets for the army
He was able to assemble muskets in seconds
He had just demonstrated the use of Interchangeable parts

4. Interchangeable parts
Interchangeable parts are parts that are exactly alike
Interchangeable parts speeded up production and made repairs easier.
It also allowed the use of lower-paid and less skilled workers
Workers who were used to more independence disliked such close supervision

5. New system This new system required new management
They made sure each piece was uniform
Or in other words they made sure each piece worked
