They are both informal forms of language. But how are they different?

“There goes the grooviest cat in Hollywood!” “Gag me with a spoon!” “Totally rad!” These are all expressions of the past. A colloquial expression is informal, but isn’t time bound. It’s a saying that is often region bound (what people say in different part of the country / different regions. It doesn’t fade over time ya’ll.)
