Oral presentation (+ tutorial for general presentation of the WG) at CIGRE EMF 2013
Ongoing technical Activity:
Software comparison (corporate or commercially available) for calculating sag variations for a sample of representative HV overhead lines, under different current flows.
4 contributions received from members. Significant differences observed in:
calculated current for a given temperature
sag variation
Critical issue : the thermal equation used in the software (IEEE / CIGRE)

Remaining Technical issues (2014):
Due to the differences observed in the software comparison, how to define a reference configuration ?
Quantify the influence of the sag variation on the magnetic field at ground level
Define correction factors and assess related uncertainties
Work organization (2014 and 2015):
Decision not to hold a meeting till major technical issues are solved = Work by correspondence only
Meeting to be planned in 2015 with the objective of issuing a final draft
