Standard PoE has Ethernet cable distance restrictions of 100 meters (328 feet) for data and power transmissions, weather for IEEE 802.3af (PoE) or 802.3at (PoE+).
Edimax provides the solutions to overcome the PoE distance limitation with the following solutions:
1) Long Range PoE+ Switch Series: Simply clicks on the DIP switch to extend the range up to 200 meters.
2) Gigabit PoE+ Extender: Adds a PoE Extender to extend the range to 100 meters or more, to up to 300 meters.

7. Long Range PoE+ Switch Double The PoE Power Distance up to 200 Meters
With the extend PoE mode, the switch operates on a per-port basis at 10Mbps duplex operation but can support 30-watt PoE power output over a distance of up to 200 meters. It is an additional solution for 802.3at/af PoE distance extension and saves costs of Ethernet cable installation.
