When we live humbly, God takes our small efforts and creates great things.” To be humble means that you do not believe that you are more important than everyone else; you are not proud or arrogant. School attendance target for the year is set at 96.5% in line with the government and national average. This week’s attendance scores are: Attendance. IMPORTANT DATES FOR YOUR DIARY: NOV 2017 DATE DAY EVENT 6 Nov MON Reception Multi Skills Competition at Temple Moor High School from 3.30pm. Please collect the children from Corpus Christi School at 5.15pm. 7 Nov TUE Classes 7, 8 & 9 are inviting parents/carers to attend a Mayan Celebration Event starting at 2.00pm. 8 Nov WED Year 6 Sports Hall Athletics at Corpus Christi Catholic College. Please collect children from Corpus Primary School at 5.00pm. 10 Nov FRI Classes 6, 7, 8 & 9 trip to Cineworld at Xscape in Castleford. 15 Nov Shoe Box Appeal - This is the last day to bring your shoebox presents in to school. Please ensure the box can be opened to see the contents inside for postage purposes. 16 Nov THU Spotacular Day to raise money for Children in Need. Wear something spotty! 50p per child, £1 per family. 17 Nov School Closed - Training Day. 20 Nov Gates open at 8.45am. IS YOUR CHILD 4 YEARS OLD ? Born between September 2013 and August 2014? Need a Primary School place? It’s time to apply! If your child is due to start primary school in September 2018 you should apply for a place from 1st November 2017. The deadline for applying is 15 January 2018. Even if your child is attending a school nursery or other early years provision or you have a child at school already you must still apply for a place. They compared the toys of today with the toys from years gone by.
This week at Corpus Stone Age to Iron Age. On Tuesday, Class 4 celebrated their learning about the Stone-age to Iron-age with their parents. The class showed their cave paintings and afterwards both children and parents worked together on a History Mystery Task. This involved being archaeologists digging for treasure! A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL PARENTS/CARERS WHO ATTENDED. Parent/Carer comment: This is a very interesting topic. It increases both student’s and parent knowledge. Thank you and well done to the class teacher. Toys from the Past. On Thursday Year 1 welcomed a visitor, Mr Hammond who had brought lots of toys from the past for the children to play with and talk about. They compared the toys of today with the toys from years gone by. They all dressed up as children from past times too. It was a very exciting day for Year 1 and they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

This week at Corpus SHOE BOX APPEAL Feast of All Saint’s.
Wednesday 1st November 2017, was a Holy Day of Obligation. Class 7 led the School and the Parish in Mass celebrating the Feast of All Saints. The children were complimented on their spiritual reflection during Mass. Win a Pudsey Bear or Blush Bear. 16th November Dress Down Day to raise money for Children in Need. Wear something SPOTTY! 50p per child £1.00 per family Raffle tickets are available to buy at 50p each. Please bring all raffle ticket money into class. Draw – Thursday 16 Nov. SHOE BOX APPEAL Make someone happy this Christmas. We have sent leaflets home explaining everything that you need to know to take part in this appeal. Shoe Boxes containing your present(s) are distributed all over the world to people in need. Last day to bring your prepared Shoe Box presents is Thursday 16th November. Please ensure the box can be opened to see the contents inside for postage purposes.
