What Happens in a 50 Minute Art Period?
3 Minutes Students arrive to class and get settled 5-10 Minutes Mini Lesson (Introduce a center, technique, studio habit, artist, style, process, etc) 30-35 Minutes Art making, small group instruction, assessment, collaboration, conferencing with teacher 3-5 Minutes Clean Up 5 Minutes Reflect, share, critique

Day of the Dead Repoussé on Tin, by 6th grade
The artwork coming home is going to look different. The children will be using their own ideas instead of the teacher’s. Some artwork in a TAB classroom is not necessarily made for exhibition. Process is valued over product.
