1. 11/6 Topic: Typing Your Research Paper
Aim: Can I properly type my research paper?
Do Now:
Sit in your assigned seat
Take your research folder
Take out your Red 8 Writing Packet (this is not the research packet).

2. Typing No out line or rough draft
Your introduction, thesis statement and your conclusion should be already typed. You should make the corrections we suggested.
If your piles are set up and organized correctly then all you do is type your topic sentence then your facts. You type the cards in the order they appear in your pile.
As you type, create a second pile of cards that you have already typed, put them face down type and flip.

3. Typing
One pile at a time . . Then put the pile away and take a new one Cards should not be all over the place.
While you are typing you can re arrange a few cards.
While you type you need to add :
Transitions (English/Social Studies writing packet)
Proper Citations (Research Packet)
Concluding/transitional sentences to the end of your body paragraphs

4. Typing
If you are using a direct quote you still need a citation after it.
Make sure you introduce and explain your citations. Make sure you do not just throw in random information.
Do NOT abbreviate names unless you are citing the information.
When you type you might realize that your paragraphs are too long so you will have to split them.
4 sentence minimum per paragraph

5. Typing Spelling and grammar count. Check for empty words.
You will have about 5 periods in school to type your paper.
You are NOT working on the paper at home. If you do there will be a penalty.
You are using the same google doc you started over the weekend.
We will be giving you feedback as you type so please take our advice or suggestions.

6. Typing Times New Roman Font
12 Point Font Title can be 14 point and bold
Double Spaced . . .One space between paragraphs
Proper Heading (single spaced) & Title (name of person)
No talking (treat this like a test)
When you are done typing go to Mr. Holzer’s Website (research paper) and look at PowerPoint.

7. Homework
Work Cited – Due Wednesday (print out a copy)

Topic Sentences
Introduction
Thesis
Conclusion
Writing Packets
