Math is a really fun thing
Slope and Rate of Change can be stressful But with My help it can be fun!
3
Using This Section In Everyday Life
Use slope to figure out how to angle a ladder against a building to keep safe. Example for a 12ft. Ladder the base of the Ladder should be 3ft from the wall.

Section 2 Slope and Rate of Change
To find slope you must use this formula M= The slope of a non vertical line is the ratio of vertical change(the rise) to horizontal change (the run). (Rise) (Run)
5
Finding the Slope of a Line
Y (-3,5) 5 -4 (2,1) X Find the slope of the line passing through (-3,5) and (2,1) Let (x1,y1) = (-3 ,5) and Let (x2, y2) = (2,1) Answer= -4 over 5
6
Classification of Lines By Slope
A line with a positive slope rises from left to right A line with a negative slope falls from left to right A line with a slope of zero is horizontal A line with an undefined slope is a vertical
7
Classification of Lines Continued
Positive Slope Negative Slope Zero Slope Undefined Slope
