Ramadan & The Prophet (SAWS)
Ibn 'Abbas narrates, saying, “The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم) was the most generous person, and he would be at his most generous in Ramadan because Jibril would come to him every night and he would study the Qur'an with him. Truly, when Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) would meet Gabriel, he would be more generous than a fleeting wind.” [Agreed Upon]

Ramadan & The Sahabah Ma’ali bin Fudail said, ‘They used to ask Allah the Almighty six months before Ramadhan to grant them long life so that they could reach Ramadhan and they used to ask Allah the Almighty six months after Ramadhan to accept their fasting’. Amazing indeed! Their whole year was full of supplication and worship. It’s also narrated that Ibn Umar raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) used to say when Ramadhan started, ‘Welcome oh the month that purifies us from the sins’. This was their situation before Ramadhan started. How do think their situation was in the midst of Ramadhan?! BismiAllah – let us start this journey by following the footsteps of our beloved Prophet (saws) and the sahabah (ra)…

Level 1: Fast of the Ordinary People – OF THE BODY Fasting from food, drink… Level 2: Fast of the Select Few – OF THE SENSES Fasting from performing evil actions and deeds Level 3: Fast of the Elite – OF THE HEART Fasting from having evil thoughts, worldly distractions from Allah

So which one will you be this Ramadan…?

Benefits of Fasting In Surah Baqarah ayah 183-186
لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ

Fasting & Taqwa Taqwa lies in the heart – according to Nabi(saws).
According to Abdullah ibn Masud(ra) Taqwa is- The slave of Allah swt needs to remember Allah The slave of Allah swt needs to obey Allah The slave of Allah swt needs to show much gratitude.

Fasting with Imaan Ramadan has a very direct, special, and unique relationship with each one of the 6 pillars of īmān. Imaan in Allah swt Imaan in the Angels Imaan in the Books Imaan in the Messengers Imaan in the Akhirah Imaan in the Qadr of Allah

What is Taqwa? Literal meaning-
Ittaqa is from the root verb Waqa which means he protected himself from that which harms him.'1 Islamic meaning – Ali says: Taqwa is to fear the All Mighty; to act upon the Revelation; to be content with little and to prepare for the Day of Travel.' (A combination of all four qualities.) Abu Darda says: The complete form of taqwa is to fear Allah so much that one begins to fear Him from (the potential sin in) a mustard seed and until one leaves what might be halal in the fear that it could be haram. This is substantiated by the verse: 'So whoever does an atom's amount of good, he will see it; and whoever does an atom's amount of evil, he will see it.'1 So do not undermine any goodness and act upon goodness.
15
Muadh Ibn Jabal & says: 'On the Day of Judgement, it will be announced: 'Where are the ones who had taqwa?‘ So they (the ones with taqwa) will stand up from under the Shelter of The Compassionate. Allah will not be invisible to them.’

Quran & Ramadan Reading Pondering
The companions of our Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) used to give special preference to the Quran during the holy month of Ramadhan. It is said that Uthman bin Affan used to finish the recitation of the whole Quran once everyday.1 Pondering Their recitation was not only reading the verses but contemplating in its meaning. ‘Narrated By Albayhaqi, Abu Hureyra said, when the last verses of Suratul Najm (53) were revealed – “Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? And you laugh at it and weep not” (53: 59,60,61) – the companions who used to live in the mosque of Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) cried so hard. When Rasulullah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) heard them he came to them and started weeping with them. And then he said ‘He will not enter hellfire a person who cried out of fear of Allah the Almighty’ (Bayhaqi).
