2 Harvard style referencing Journal articles
Journal article references have 7 information elements, all separated by punctuation. Surname, Initial date, ‘Article title’, Journal name (in italics), Volume number, Issue number, Pages.

3 Harvard style referencing
Database entries provide all the information needed to create the citation yourself. Article title Author Journal name, year, vol., issue., pages.

Some databases offer citation tools e.g. clicking on this icon opens a Citation Format page where you scroll down to find the Harvard citation N.B. check the citation for errors e.g. the title of the article is NOT written in capital letters

In text references External quote One author The in text reference comes at the end of the sentence in which the author has been summarised or paraphrased.

At South Western Sydney TAFE, students can take a course in English for Academic Purposes, which includes how to reference in the Harvard style of referencing.(Koorey, 2017 p. 137).

15 Harvard style referencing
Indirect quote The author is named in the sentence followed by the year in brackets e.g. Odili & Eke (2010) found that nurses felt they had an important role in diabetes education, but their knowledge with regard to diabetes mellitus was less than satisfactory.
