2 Vitamins There are many different kinds of vitamins, each providing nutrients that support the body functions for optimum health. Vitamins can be found in foods that are in a balanced diet meeting the daily recommended by the USDA. For individuals who lack the recommended intake of vitamins found in foods, vitamin supplements can be purchased. Often when someone has a vitamin deficiency, a physician can recommend particular vitamin(s) to help support better health. Even though each vitamin is necessary, often medical professionals prefer that vitamins are received through foods over supplements if possible.
