2 Welcome Back We hope you have had a lovely summer!
Aims of the session: To outline expectations of the year. To review progression options To give an overview of the UCAS process.

3 Our Expectations Attend all lessons- If absence is unavoidable, then please contact both Registry and your teachers. Absence reporting: Call Absences on Enter the absence on our website: This can be done by student or parent/guardian Make sure that you have updated your contact details on our system. Attend scheduled meetings. Communication- college

4 What you can expect from us
Safeguarding/welfare. The college takes your welfare and safety seriously, so please let us know if you have any concerns regarding yourself or one of your friends. Support and guidance on your course. Support and guidance with progression options.

5 Equality and Diversity

6 The Prevent Strategy Our aim is to produce young people who are:
● responsible citizens – which includes understanding identity, valuing diversity, working cooperatively to promote positive change ● confident individuals – which includes developing independence, self awareness and moral judgements ● successful learners – which includes developing enquiring minds, and engaging with the issues of our world If you, or someone you know, feel they are at risk of being radicalised please speak to any member of staff and share your concerns.

7 Staying safe on line Facebook isn’t always fun!
On line bullying is not acceptable. Keep your privacy settings on the highest level. Remember future employers and universities can look at your profile. On go to “The Hub” select “Digital Literacy”

8 Safeguarding All students are entitled to feel safe both in and out of College and all staff will actively safeguard and promote the welfare of all our students. Any concerns can be shared with any member of staff who will share this information with a designated child protection officer in order to support the student. Staff may not promise confidentiality, but they will help you to deal with situations. The College counsellor is available to advise you and your progress coach can give you lots of information about the support we can offer.

Cambridge, Oxford, Veterinary, Medicine: External Deadline 15th October 2017 (internal deadline 6th October 2017) Long Road internal support deadline 10th November 2017 *You*will need to book a UCAS Review with your Progress Coach Final UCAS deadline: 15th January 2018
