5 Donuts for Dads/ Men Make a Difference October 10th, 2016
UPDATE Sign-up started Sept. 14th, Scheduled to end Sept. 30th As of Oct. 3rd: 97 sign-ups for class participation (3 slots available) 44 sign-ups for Breakfast only 13 sign-ups for volunteers NEXT STEPS The list of the class participants was sent to the Principal for distribution to the teachers By Oct. 7th Teachers should reach out to participants to identify activity By Oct. 7th Finalize logistics (Food, Volunteers, Etc.) AGENDA 7:30am-8:00am – Sign-in (media room) 8:00-8:30am – Breakfast 8:30-9:00am – Class Participation SCHEDULED SPEAKERS Curtis Valentine, BOE member PGPCS Franklyn Malone and David Smith, 100 Fathers Inc., D.C.

6 Children’s Shop This will run for a week in the front conference room.
We will need lots of volunteers. Shopping for the Kid’s Shop is almost complete. Any ideas are appreciated. Requesting donations for Gift Wrap, Tape, Tissue Paper, etc.

7 October Events October 10th – 8:00AM – Donuts with Dad in Celebration of Men Make a Difference Day – RSVP Required October 11th – 3-9PM – Nando’s Peri Peri Spirit Night – Laurel Center – PTO Earns 40% of the Bill if you Mention CMIT October 24th – 6-9PM – Panera Spirit Night in Laurel – PTO Earns 10% of Total Café Sales

8 November Events November 1st through 30th – Pennies 4 PTO Class Competition Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night – November 9th

9 Assemblies Mobile Ed Productions - Frederick Douglass
The Starry Road to Freedom is an expertly performed one-man show delivered by a strong actor who will enrapture your staff and students as they learn all about the influence of this famous American. Chronologically traveling from Douglass' days as an enslaved youth all the way to adulthood and his relationship with President Lincoln, stressing the importance of freedom in all aspects of life. The Earth Dome Bring our gigantic, inflatable globe standing 19-feet high and 22-feet in diameter into your school and blow your students’ minds. Our energetic performer takes your students on a trip around - and inside - the world, exploring the continents, visiting countries, and studying the structure of the earth from the inside-out! Joe Romano – Green Magic – Science and Recycling – Books not Bullies Embark on an arithmetic adventure with "The Math Mystery Show!" Magician Ken Scott teaches problem-solving and math skills while using comedy and audience participation to keep students amused and engaged. "The Mystery Math Show" features engaging illusions that educate about money management, measurement, fractions and much more!

10 Old Business - Uniform Company
All American Wear has a 2,600 item production run in progress. The store front is expected to be fully stocked again by Saturday. To date, the PTO portion of the sales will be approximately $2,000. Coupons for October were sent out in the newsletter.

11 Old Business - Continued
Request for a Forum for Complaints/Comments other than the PTO contact . Mrs. McCain posted a google form for this via Class Dojo. Mrs. McCain will read the list of questions and responses. Recess Times – The School Administration was contacted about recess times. CMIT follows the guidelines set by PGCPS. Additional recess time would cut into class time. Visitation – The fingerprinting policy has been sent out in the newsletter. The School Administration was contacted regarding the treatment of volunteers at arrival and the demeanor of school staff towards volunteers.
