2 Basic Purpose of FFA Broadcasting
The purpose of FFA broadcasting is to foster an understanding and to create an interest in the field of agriculture and broadcast journalism. Mike

4 Rules of ffa broadcasting
Must have three members Broadcast should be not less than 6 minutes, or more than 8 minutes.(Penalty for violation shall be 10 points per minute or major fraction thereof). A major fraction of a minute is defined as 31 seconds. Broadcast given out of view of judges, and speaking into three microphones (one for each member) *New rule! Skits, plays, props, sound effects are not to be used. Agricultural subject must be talked about! The subject must be current in nature and local in content. Kristen

6.Team members are to retain their own individuality and character, and be themselves! 7.Team is to assume this its chapter has a regularly scheduled non-commercial radio broadcast, which provides an announcer to introduce and close out the broadcast. 8.The advisor and the team members must submit a Statement of Originality form prior to competing in the broadcast. 9.Plagiarism is not allowed! 6 Rules of FFA Broadcasting
10. Team members can test microphones before performing. A maximum of three minutes will be allowed Tie Breakers:Ties will be broken based on the greatest number of low ranks. Team low ranks will be counted and the team with the greatest number of low ranks will be declared the winner. If a tie still exists then the team’s raw scores will be totaled. 7 scoring/Placing of FFA Broadcasting presentations
Broadcasting teams are judged based on three different aspects; subject matter, continuity, and listener importance. Judges have two score/notes sheets. One is for points and rankings of each team, while the other is for writing comments specific to the team and their areas of judging, that will be given back to the teams. Jenny

8 Statement of originality
Students and their agricultural advisor will fill this out and sign it, then turn it in before their broadcasting presentation. This represents that their broadcasting script is original, and not plagiarized.

9 Notes Sheet Each judge comments on each aspect of the broadcasting presentation, this is given back to advisors/team members to know what they did well/not well on, and to help with future competitions

10 Score Card Used in scoring among the judges to find out the scores and placings of the broadcasting teams.
