2. Purpose
My case study child Lilly has showed interest in watching cake making and decorating videos
Many of the children enjoy spending time in the casita during free play
Books are part of the center to encourage literacy development
Including boys and girls in order to defy gender stereotypes
Including Spanish and English to create a global connection

6. Transformation The casita will be transformed into a bakery shop
Replacing the casita materials with the baking materials and aprons
Adding recipe books and children’s books about baking
Putting blank recipe cards on the table for children to write their own recipes

7. Overall
I focused in on what interests I saw in my class in order to make the center relatable to every child in my class
Although I did not get to implement it, I believe the children would have really enjoyed it
Next time, I would have added Mexican American books in order to create an even stronger global connection
