2 Hardware Requirements
PC or Mac can be used in these classes Desktop or laptop Some electives require that you be able to run Adobe programs if you plan to do the coursework on your own computer. Go to adobe.com for system requirements. Week 3 - CAS 101

Adobe Creative Cloud (optional - electives) Dreamweaver Photoshop Illustrator Open-Source Software WordPress, Drupal (CMS programs) Brackets, Komodo Edit, Sublime, Notepad++, TextWrangler (Text Editors) GIMP (Graphics Editor) Browsers Chrome, Safari, IE/Edge, Firefox, Opera Week 3 - CAS 101

4 Web Hosting Server Web Hosting: having your own is a requirement for students taking CAS Web courses. One account can be used for all of your CAS Web courses. The PCC CAS/WT department recommends going with webhostingforstudents.com (WH4S). It is inexpensive and reliable hosting. Other choices include GoDaddy, BlueHost, and iPage. There are many, many more. Optional: Register a Domain Name If you are serious about website development and design – you should have a domain name and you should be thinking about what yours should be soon. Week 3 - CAS 101

6 GRAD Plan Graduation Requirements & Academic Decisions (GRAD) Plan
Web-based tool that allows you to: Track your progress towards completing degree requirements Complete “what-if” scenarios for different degrees and certificates Calculate grade point averages Use in addition to meeting with an Advisor (NOT in place of!) Week 3 - CAS 101

8 GRAD Plan helps you monitor progress toward

9 Use “What If” to view hypothetical changes to your degree
If you are currently “Undeclared” or have a different degree/major listed use “What If”. To make official changes to your degree or major visit an Admissions & Registration office or call (option 2). Week 3 - CAS 101

13 When Should I Use GRAD Plan?
Before an academic advising session. After registration, confirm that courses selected complete the necessary requirements. Prior to changing your degree/ major. Before applying for graduation, review your degree requirements. Week 3 - CAS 101
