Interact with younger women who have a higher incidence of melanoma Periodic physical inspection of high incidence melanoma site i.e. the back Balaniot have discovered skin cancer and have saved lives

Strike a delicate balance
Between facilitation of the the woman’s full and complete mikveh spiritual and emotional experience and potentially saving a life Guidance regarding a detected lesion should be made after the immersion and in a calm and reassuring manner so as not to alarm or cause anxiety

Detection Examine entire body including A. Palms
B. Back of neck and scalp C. Back and buttcks D. Back of legs, feet and between toes

Normal Mole A normal mole is usually an evenly colored brown, tan, or black spot on the skin Can be either flat or raised Can be round or oval Moles are generally less than 6 millimeters across (about the width of a pencil eraser)

Possible signs of Melanoma
New spot on the skin or a spot that’s changing in size, shape, or color Spot that looks different from all of the other spots on your skin The ABCDE rule is another guide to the usual signs of melanoma

Suspicious lesion The ABCDE system of melanoma detection represent a clinical guide for early diagnosis of melanoma. The following features are considered suspicious: A-ASSYMETRY B-BORDER C-COLOR D-DIAMETER E-EVOLVING

The guidance should ALWAYS be to see a dermatologist as the clinical situation warrants
